Biography
Douglas G. Steigerwald joined the faculty of the Department of Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara after completing an M.A. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. His research and teaching focus on frontier econometric methods at the intersection of economics, environmental science, computer science, geography and statistics. At Santa Barbara Doug heads the Econometrics Research Group , which provides a focal point for graduate students from a range of departments who are conducting applied econometric research. He also has directed the American Economic Association's Summer Training Program, advised the Sloan Foundation on graduate research and is the faculty representative on the Board of Trustees of the UC Santa Barbara Foundation. Off campus, Doug has served as a consultant in the finance industry - for Hull Trading and Matlock Capital - and in the legal services industry - for LECG. He has also served as chair of the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program in Economics. In his free time, Doug enjoys writing travelogues . | ||
